The North Show is one of the main events in Guernsey's summer calendar, and takes place in the wonderful rural setting of Saumarez Park. Each year the Show attracts thousands of visitors to:

The displays of exhibitors' entries, ranging from Guernsey livestock through fur and feather, fruit, vegetables, flowers, flower arrangements, cookery, photography, art and craft.

The programme of arena events, showcasing local and off-island talent, and including in the afternoon of day two, the Guernsey Battle of Flowers, which culminates in the evening illuminated cavalcade, the whole rounded off with a firework display.

The Show is also supported throughout the two days by a fun fair, and refreshment and other stalls and displays.

This Friday (3rd Aug) at the Fresh Friday Market. I would like to introduce a Yellow Curry (turmeric flavour) as one of my special menus. This is a very common Thai curry. I made this curry especially for vegetarians, however, if you are a meat eater, you can just simply add your favourite meat in it e.g. chicken or prawn.

I am a big fan of lobster and what I did was, just poured the Yellow curry sauce over my lobster then finished it off in the oven for about 15 - 25 minutes at about 180 degree Celsius or lower depending on your oven.

Now, if you like the look of this, you know where to come!

This Friday (15th June), the Noodle Soup Stall would like to introduce our new dish, KowMungai with Gingy Tingy Sauce. Some of you may have heard about this dish, if you have been to Thailand or may be through your Thai friends.

What is KowMunGai ????

Well, Kow is rice and Gai is chicken. What is the Mun?? It is a grease, oh, don't panic! This is not a bad grease, it comes from the garlic which has been roasted or sometimes deep fried in a selected vegetable oil. So basically, KowMunGai is the
Chicken and Garlic Rice. Does this sound healthy enough!

What is the Gingy Tingy Sauce????

The
Gingy Tingy sauce is freshly made by me, Tan Blondin. I named it Gingy Tingy sauce because the sauce is made from Ginger, Chili, Garlic, Soy sauce, Lime & etc. (I'm not going to give out my recipe now, am I?) All those first three ingredients does really give a little ting on your tongue, but don't worry, I have created a mild one and a full power one, so everyone can enjoy!

Although, this dish is very common and popular in Thailand, I would not like to say it is a traditional Thai dish as it has its story in other cultures and you will find it all across the South East Asian countries.

The best way to enjoy the KowMunGai is to eat along with a  Hot Soup. The idea is to help washing down the food and it always goes well with the spices. You can enjoy this dish anytime, whether cold weather to warm you up or hot weather to cool you down. All thanks to the amazing spices and the hot soup!

Come and try some only at our Noodle Soup Stall by A & Tan. :)

Thank you so so much EVERYONE for coming to support our Noodle Soup Stall today. I felt that we did well! Although, the weather was not the best, but you still made it to our stall and your friends, too. Thank you too for spreading the word.  We would like to apologise as we knew that some of the pots that we served were over loaded and made it difficult to eat, some of the stock pots that produced later on was a bit lacking and anything else that we may have missed and bad service at some point. It was our first time running the stall, both of us were very excited and a bit nervous, but next time we promise to improve our performance and make sure we deliver our Noodle Soup with quality in every pot. A & Tan
